Kathleen Heit brings to Bowersock Capital Partners over fourteen years of experience collaborating with high-net-worth families. Before joining the firm in 2021, Kathleen was the dedicated wealth planner for U.S. Bank Private Wealth Management in Kansas City, Missouri. She advised clients in areas of wealth transfer and multi-generational estate planning, risk management, retirement planning, philanthropic giving strategies, and complex planning for business owners, including succession planning.

Kathleen attended the University of Denver, earning a BSBA in Statistics while competing on a varsity swimming scholarship. Upon graduation in 1997 she went to work for Lucent Technologies and then Avaya Communications as a Global Forecast Analyst. In 2001 she “retired” from Avaya and became a SCUBA diving instructor on the island of Kauai. Teaching and leading divers of all experience levels in occasionally challenging environments has proven invaluable for her career, helping clients address life’s financial challenges with a sense of calm and purpose. After six years in Kauai, in 2007, Kathleen joined her father in financial services at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. as a financial advisor. She subsequently spent over five years at Clayton Wealth Partners as a financial planner, earning her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation in 2013.

Kathleen is invested in improving the communities where she works, plays, and lives. She is currently serving on the Board of Trustees for the Topeka Collegiate School and has served in the past on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Northeast Kansas, Topeka Civic Theatre, the Downtown Rotary Club of Topeka and as President of the Board of ARTSConnect. In 2009, she participated in Leadership Greater Topeka, and in 2011 she was named one of Topeka’s Top 20 Young Professionals under 40*. In 2017, Kathleen and her husband David were recognized as Rising Leaders of Downtown Topeka, and in 2018 Kathleen was honored by the YWCA of Topeka as a Woman of Excellence. Additionally, Kathleen has participated in the Junior League of Topeka as well as the Greater Topeka Partnership.

Kathleen is married to David Heit, an architect, and together they have 3 children and a Bernedoodle puppy. They enjoy camping, SCUBA diving, traveling, and participating in community events and celebrations.
